Confident Period is a program that will provide equitable access to period products to menstruating students.
Confident Period will provide period products to elementary through high school students in Northern Colorado through two programs, Confident Student and Confident Pantry.
The goal of Confident Student is to provide access to period products to students during the school day.
The goal of Confident Pantry is to provide three month period kits to those students in Northern Colorado experiencing chronic period poverty. This program is still in the planning/funding stages. If you are interested in helping us launch this program please send us an email!
Launching January of 2022
Dream big they said! So we did!
We are excited to announce our Confident Student Program. The mission of this program is to ensure that students have access to period products during the school day so they can feel confident and capable when they are on their period.
Through this program we will be partnering with the nurses and health aides at Thompson School District, Poudre School District, and Greeley/Evans School District to ensure that students have access to period products throughout the day if they find themselves in need.
This is the first step of many in our mission to provide education and to ensure that all students have equitable access to period products. .We are here to end the stigma in the school setting and to empower students. It’s the first step of many and we are so honored to be a part of it.
Together we are creating change. Together we are ending the stigma. Together we are ensuring that students can remain focused on learning.
Always Better Together!
An impactful past and an even more impactful future for Confident.
Brooke is a mother, wife, and nurse from Northern Colorado. She is also an advocate for menstrual equity for students while working to mitigate period poverty in Northern Colorado.
Brooke's passion stems from her own children's experiences regarding access to period products in school. Her oldest asked her to bring period products to school because what was available in the health office was not teen/tween appropriate.
It was then that Brooke knew she needed to help pave the way for change regarding period products in schools. She would periodically drop period products and underwear to the middle school health office to ensure that all students had access to period products. It was then that her path revealed itself to her and she decided to follow it by creating Confident. With help from friends, family, the community, she was able to provide period products and underwear to all K-12 students in the Thompson School District, Poudre School District, and the Greeley-Evans school districts.
For the last few years so many of you have been on this journey with Brooke, and we are excited to link arms and come together with you. What started in a living room as a grassroots effort to help ensure that students had access to period products will now have the opportunity to help so many more students in our communities.
We are honored to link arms with Brooke and Confident.
